Education based on Student Learning Outcomes is the need of the hour
Student Learning Outcomes ensure that children advance to the next level only when they have mastered the current level so they can learn deeply and apply their knowledge.
Student learning outcomes are indicators that tell what a student should know and be able to do after completing an assignment, class, course, or program. Identifying learning outcomes is essential to ensure students benefit from the lessons rather than just sitting through classes. Student learning outcomes are designed to be observable and measurable.
NEP focuses strongly on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). Clear goals in terms of learning outcomes have been defined in the document on FLN (the document is called “NIPUN Bharat”; released in 2021, it is one of the first position papers released as per NEP).
These outcomes (examples given below) need to be met by 2026-27 for grade 3. At LEAD, our Learning Outcomes (LOs) are already aligned with the new LOs released in the NIPUN Bharat document.
